In it's most basic form "Platform Cluedo" is a scratch night!

A scratch night is an informal performance platform for emerging artists and engaging community memebrs to show work in progress to get audience feedback for future development.

We wanted to give people who are working on an act or developing their own projects to show their work and to get video and photo footage to use for their portfolio.

As we had access to an amazing, newly renovated church with circus rigging and a host of other smaller areas/ spaces that could be converted into performance spaces we wanted to make use of the entire building.

Instead of just introducing each act like a normal scratch night, which could feel exposing and sterile at time we created the theme of cluedo to cohesively combine the different act and uses of spaces.

This means we can help create the right atmosphere by utilising the space.

For example:

An intimate monologue (which would be communicated as well on a large stage), may be performed in the lounge with intervals of 20 people watching.

If you're a juggler who has a series of patterns but is still working on the theatrical elements of the performance you could use the theme of Cluedo and the space your into to help develop an act. I.e professor plum in the kitchen, using items from the space to juggle with.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The theme does not have to feed into your work.

We are looking for work that's been developed which stands on it's own, where the artist does not want any context of Cluedo to feed into their work. We will organise for this accordingly.
